For High School Juniors only – the Discover Card Tribute Award - for juniors with a minimum 2.75 GPA who demonstrate leadership, are actively contributing to their communities and who have experienced and overcome a significant obstacle in their lives. Vermont NEA Maida F. Townsend Scholarship – applicants must be sons or daughters of Vermont-NEA members. Preference given to those planning to major in education. Applications available in guidance. Deadline February 1, 2007

Roger J. Sheridan Memorial Scholarship – applicant must be planning to majoring in physical education. Deadline February 1, 2007

Knights of Columbus Scholastic Achievement Award – deadline February 15, 2007
Applicants must be sons or daughters of a Knight of Columbus (in good standing)

March deadlines:

Price Chopper's Golub Foundation Scholarships - www.pricechopper.com Deadline - March 15. There are ten different scholarships - descriptions are available in guidance.

Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship - applicant must be a high school senior who has made a meaningful contribution to animal protection over a significant period of time. Deadline - March 15, 2006. Information available in Guidance.

Vermont Lions Hart Memorial Award – applicant must have a disability or debilitating illness and demonstrated academic achievement and community involvement. Deadline - March 15, 2007. Applications available in Guidance.


April deadlines:

Northwestern Vermont Vietnam Veterans of America - applicants must be college bound high school seniors who are related to an honorably discharged Vietnam-Era Veteran, both of whom are legal residents of Vermont. Deadline - April 1, 2006. Information available in Guidance.

American Legion of Vermont Scholarships – deadline April 1, 2007 – open to any high school senior planning to attend college after graduation. Applications available in guidance.

The Freeman Nurse Scholars Program – applicant must be seeking a nursing degree at one of Vermont’s five schools of nursing. A minimum two year commitment to practicing in Vermont is required upon accepting a Freeman Award. Applications available at www.choosenursingvermont.org
Deadline April 1, 2007.

The Point, Vermont State Colleges & Milne Travel American Express – applicants must plan to attend one of the Vermont State Colleges and have demonstrated community service. Deadline – April 6, 2007. Applications available in Guidance.

Montpelier Emblem Club - applicants are judged on financial need, school/community leadership, GPA/class rank, personal essay and recommendations. Deadline – April 3, 2007. Applications available in Guidance.

Vermont Federal Credit Union – applicant must be a member of the Vermont Federal Credit Union with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Deadline – April 6, 2007. Applications available in Guidance or at www.vtfcu.org.

Vermont Golf Association - Eligibility - high school seniors in the top 40% of their graduating class with a connection to golf. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline - April 20, 2006.

Vermont Grocers' Scholarship - eligibility criteria available in guidance. Deadline April 26.

Sons of the American Legion Scholarship - Applicant must be planning to attend a trade or technical college and must be the son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter of a member of the American Legion family or a direct descendant of a veteran. Applications available in Guidance. Deadline April 30.

May deadlines:

The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship – eligibility based on academic excellence, character and financial need. These scholarships are renewable providing there is continued eligibility. More information and applications available at www.phillips-scholarship.org Deadline May 1, 2007

The Clara J. Hill Scholarship - applicants must be planning a career in education or a closely related field involving youth. Deadline - May 1, 2006. Applications available in Guidance.

Central Vermont Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship - eligibility - students must have been accepted at an accredited school for study in of the following professions:
Practical Nursing, Registered Nursing, Med. Tech., Pharmacy, X-Ray Tech., PT, OT or Dental Hygiene. Deadline - May 1. Applications available in Guidance.

James & Elizabeth Martin Burnes Family Scholarship - awarded to a student who has demonstrated a genuine desire to make the most of his/her high school career. Deadline May 1. Applications available in Guidance.
