With respect to the treatment of the school
community, the superintendent shall not cause or allow conditions that are
unsafe or unhealthy.
Accordingly, the superintendent shall not:
1.
fail
to educate the school community in how to maintain a healthy environment and
lifestyle;
2.
allow
the use of substances or products damaging to the environment or human health,
unless necessary for academic studies, and then only when adequate precautions
are taken to ensure their safe use;
3.
fail
to engage in best practices regarding the overlapping areas of health, exercise
and nutrition within the curriculum, food service, extracurricular activities
and physical plant, thereby ensuring its school community members are learning,
teaching and working in a healthy school environment; or
4.
allow
members of the school community to contribute to known dietary-related diseases
including, but not limited to, obesity, diabetes and heart disease.
