915 HEALTH (N) PLP (Fall or Spring)

SUMMARY:

All students are required to take this one semester health course to satisfy the health requirement for graduation. This course is aligned with Vermont and National Health Education standards encompassing anatomy and physiology, mental health, alcohol/drug prevention, nutrition, human sexuality, consumer health, and community health and safety.

EXPECTATION FOR STUDENTS:

(1) All work be completed on time! (2) If you miss work, you are responsible for meeting with the teacher to make up the work. (3) Minimal attendance rules will be enforced (10 period units/semester allowed). (4) This course counts toward athletic eligibility standards. (5) An incomplete must be completed within 2 weeks of the end of the course unless specific arrangements have been made with the teacher. (6) A letter grade will be converted to PE Points at the end of the course.

ASSESSMENT:

Grades will be based on the following criteria: 20% Written Evaluations (Tests/Quizzes and Final), 20% Teacher Observation (Student conduct and participation in classroom activities), 10% Self-Evaluation by student (Rubric), 10% Journals (Notebook and required classroom responses), 20% Project(s) and 20% Homework
