Visual Arts Skill Development (A2:10, A2:11)
- Student shows skill development when creating art by using line in various media to create shape and image.
- Student shows skill development when creating art by handling and naming art tools and materials.
- Student shows skill development when creating art by using elements and principles of 2D and 3D design (e.g., showing space by overlapping, line, texture, pattern, primary and secondary colors).
- Student communicates skills in the visual arts by using media and materials to convey feeling, idea or thought.
Reflection and Critique (A2:13, A2:15)
- Student describes art using discipline specific vocabulary of visual arts: primary and secondary colors, horizontal and vertical lines, realism, texture, pattern, collage and portrait.
- Student critiques and revises art by asking questions about his or her own work and the work of artists.
Making Connections (A2:16)
- Student makes connections between/among the arts by identifying the similarities and differences in genres (e.g., sculpture and painting).

- Student approaches artistic problem solving with an open mind and creative thinking by responding to teacher suggested solutions.
