Sewing Construction: Reasoning and Problem Solving, Design and Technology
- Student demonstrates skills needed to produce and repair apparel.
- Student demonstrates skills in using a variety of equipment, tools, and supplies for textile construction.
- Student demonstrates operational procedures for controlling the output of the sewing machine.
Healthy Cooking (FCSENS 14.3, 14.4) Student demonstrates ability to acquire, handle, and use foods to meet nutrition and wellness needs. Student evaluates factors that affect food safety, from production through consumption.
- Student critiques the recipes for their nutritional value using nutrition information accompanying recipes and comparing it to nutrition label facts.
- Student demonstrates food safety and sanitation procedures assuring personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing.
- Student demonstrates skills in food preparation fundamentals.
- Student demonstrates safe and environmentally responsible waste disposal and recycling methods.
- Student performs effectively on a team.
Improving the School Environment (Product/Service 2.13) Student designs a product, project, or service to meet an identified need. Approach and Reasoning: The strategies and skills used to solve the problem, and the reasoning that supports the approach; Execution: The answer and the mathematical work that supports it;Observations and Extensions: Demonstration of observation, connections, application, extensions, and generalizations; Mathematical Communication: The use of mathematical vocabulary and representation to communicate the solution; and Presentation: Effective communication of how the problem was solved, and of the reasoning used.
