Analyze roles and responsibilities of parenting (FCSENS 15.1)
  1. Student demonstrates nurturing parenting practices during the egg parenting simulation.
  2. Student demonstrates interpersonal skills that promote positive and productive relationships supporting each other during the egg parenting simulation.
  3. Student develops a variety of questions through use of four power levels (right there, making discoveries, arriving at conclusions and critical thinking) and addressing the parenting unit’s six focus questions (life changes, challenges, joys, readiness, egg-parenting connection, career and education).
  4. Student analyzes roles and responsibilities of parenting through parent interviews and reflections.
Changing the Menu (FCSENS 14.34) Student demonstrates ability to acquire, handle, and use foods to meet nutrition and wellness needs. Student evaluates factors that affect food safety, from production through consumption.
    1. Student demonstrates food safety and sanitation procedures assuring personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing.
    2. Student demonstrates skills in food preparation fundamentals.
    3. Student creates a delicious dish using seasonal, local foods, which can be easily prepared for School Food Service programs.
    4. Student demonstrates safe and environmentally responsible waste disposal and recycling methods.
      Happiness Therapy  (Healthy Choices 3.5)  Student makes informed, healthy choices that positively affect the health, safety, and well-being.
      1. Student demonstrates use of strategies to manage stress.
      2. Student describes his utilization of mindfulness and happiness therapy techniques through journal entries.
      3. Student identifies techniques to manage stress and maintain happiness that apply to their environment and personality.
