1. Student follows correct procedures for borrowing and returning materials.
2. Student understands the strategies of book care.

1. Student listens actively and responds to communications.
2.  Student uses verbal and nonverbal skills to express thoughts effectively.
3. Student participates as a member of a literate community, talking about books, ideas, and writing.
4. Student will prepare and illustrate a booklet celebrating the Caldecott Award-winning books.
5. The student will alphabetize to the first letter.
