Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)

For this assignment, you will be asking a question about Dia de los Muertos and doing some research in order to answer that question. Your question should address one of the following topics: food, history, offrendas, language, art, music and dance, regional celebrations, cemeteries, common symbols, drama, other activities, writing (poetry, stories, etc...), or religion. If your question does not address one of the topics, talk with me and we'll decide together if it is an appropriate question.

Once you ask a question you will do the following:

1. You may join another student and work as a pair. However, you may work alone. If you work as a pair, choose ONE of your questions to answer.

2. Read through the information on the pages below.

3. Do some other research. I reccomend using: the books from the classroom or library, an internet search engine, an encyclopedia (online or book), a magazine... If possible, you should have a at least one internet resource and at least one non-internet resource.

4. You will organize your research on a worksheet that I will be collecting! Click here to download and print a copy of the worksheet.

5. Finally you will choose a mini-project in order to present your research. Click for a list of mini-projects to choose from!
