Visual Arts Skill Development (A1:10, A1:11, A1:12)
- Student shows skill development when creating art by using line in various media to create shape and image.
- Student shows skill development when handling and naming art tools and materials.
- Student shows skill and development when identifying and using elements and principles of 2D and 3D design (e.g., 2D-mixing primaries to create secondary colors, texture and pattern).
- Student communicates skills in the visual arts by using media and material to convey feeling, idea, or thought.
- Student shows understanding of visual arts concepts and vocabulary through the naming and using of different media, genre and techniques (e.g., portrait, landscape, realism and horizon line).
Reflection and Critique (A1:13, A1:15)
- Student describes art using discipline specific vocabulary of visual arts: primary and secondary colors, horizon line and vertical line, texture and pattern.
- Student critiques and revises art by asking questions about their own work and work of artists.
Making Connections (A1:16)
- Student makes connections between/among the arts by an understanding of the visual arts in cultures.
Approach to Work (A1:20, A1:21)
- Student develops personal work habits by demonstrating the willingness to take part in the activity.
- Student develops personal habits by making good use of class time.
- Student demonstrates appropriate interactions by participating in individual and/or group work willingly and appropriately.
