Computer classes at Main Street Middle School are designed to help students meet the grade level expectations for technology.

In 6th Grade Computer Applications, students learn about correct usage of the keyboard, formatting in Microsoft Word, and formatting in Microsoft Excel building spreadsheets and charts.

In 7th Grade Computer Tech, students use applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Inspiration, PowerPoint, iMovie, and GarageBand to create multimedia presentations intended for specific audiences and purposes. Click here to see some of the movies created by students during the 2006-2007 school year.

All 8th grade students participate in a 3-week mini-unit in Digital Technology that addresses the Acceptable Use technology standards.

The Montpelier Technology Objectives were based on the ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for Students and the Vermont Information Technology Grade Expectations. For complete lists of the standards as they relate to students in grades 6-8, please use the links in the left navigation bar of this page.
