RECREATION DEPARTMENT OFFICE INFORMATION

OFFICE LOCATION
Our administrative office is located on the top floor at 58 Barre Street, across the street from the Recreation Center Gymnasium and above the Senior Center. At this office you can complete all sign-ups and inquire about additional programs. Special accommodations for access can be made for people who need them by calling 223-5141.

FEES:
All fees are payable in advance. A person is considered registered only when a check or cash is received at the Recreation Office. Telephone registrations will not be accepted for classes with a fee.

OFFICE HOURS AND PROGRAM INFORMATION:
The Montpelier Recreation Department’s office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We remain open during the lunch hour. Feel free to call us with questions regarding program information. While we try to accommodate the full spectrum of community interest we are always open for your suggestions. Program registration forms may be acquired by faxing us at 223-5645.

REFUND POLICY:
The programs that we offer are dependent upon the revenue generated by the participants. It is through this revenue that instructors are paid and equipment and supplies are purchased. With that in mind refunds are given under the following circumstances.
1. Full refunds will be given if
a. The Recreation Department cancels a program.
b. You notify our office 2 business days prior to the program start date.
Partial refunds will be considered if you suffer an illness or injury after the program begins.

SPECIAL THANKS to our Volunteer’s
To all the parents and students who volunteered their time to make the Winter Basketball programs possible. The Recreation Department’s winter programs would not be possible without the help of volunteers. Volunteers affect the lives of children in so many positive ways. It is hard to measure the number of benefits children receive from being involved in youth sports. Thank you for your help.

YOUTH SPORTS
Youth Sports Programs require time and preparation on the part of our volunteer coaching staff. We request that you sign up early to assist us in designating the number of teams and coaches needed for the sport season. This is also helpful for ordering supplies. Volunteers Needed: Coaches, umpires, needed for Youth Baseball and Softball Programs. Please contact the Montpelier Recreation Department at 223-5141 if interested in helping.

PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS:
WSKI, WNCS, WGLY, WDEV, AND WSNO.
Each program has a minimum number that must be reached in order for it to be sponsored. If that minimum is not reached, the program will be canceled and a full refund will be issued.

BAD WEATHER:
There are times that we are forced to cancel classes and programs due to inclement weather. Our programs will automatically be cancelled if the Montpelier Public Schools close for any reason. Announcements will be publicized on the above listed radio stations. If you have questions regarding cancellations please call 223-5141. Specific questions regarding make-up dates should be directed to your individual instructor.

SIGN-UPS:
For Montpelier Youth Baseball, Softball, and T-ball are going on now. Program locations, dates, and times may be subject to change. Classes may be canceled if enrollment is to low.

SPECIAL NOTE:
INSTRUCTORS NEEDED:
Instructors Needed For Fall Programs: We are looking for instructors to teach pre-school, youth, and adult programs for our Fall sessions. The following programs we need instructors for: Arts and Crafts, tumbling, theater, Gardening, and Dance. We are also interested in instructors who may want to teach a program we do not have listed. These are paid positions for qualified applicants. If you are interested in teaching, please contact the Recreation Department Administrative Office or call 223-5141 for more information.
