WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HEAD LICE

Cubbies
Notice anything different about the first floor hallways lately? Not only do we have beautiful art adorning the walls and boots neatly lined up outside our doors, but we now have GORGEOUS birchwood cubbies!
Space is at a premium here at UES. Through a collaborative effort with the Department of Corrections educational work program we now have hand-crafted cubbies. This program is a valuable tool for the inmates, as it teaches them drafting, computer animated drawings (CAD), how to build high quality furniture, and
how to give back to the community.
This week, Mrs. Fiorentino-Robinson’s class worked with their second grade book buddies from Mr. McLane’s class and wrote thank you notes to the “craftsmen” at the facility. This seamlessly fit in with our C.A.R.E.S curriculum, as we were able to talk about taking RESPONSIBILITY not only for things we’ve done, but for the good things that are done for us and for our community.
To the right is a sample of one of our letters, to be mailed off later this week:
We truly live in a great community with lots of Big Picture learning here at UES. Enjoy!

In order to provide as much transparency in the FY13 Budgeting Process, I have provided a copy of the Draft Presentation made to the Montpelier Board of School Commissioners on Wednesday, December 21.
Please know that this is a Draft Proposal for FY13. All are invited to share feedback at the next School Board Meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 7:00 in the Montpelier High School Library.
Know of my wishes for a safe and happy holiday season for everyone in Montpelier.
Gratefully,
Dr. Brian G. Ricca
